Building Successful Business Relationships Online Through Social Networking
While there are websites that are now completely dedicated to the professional and allowing them to build some professional relationships, they are not always able to weed out the poor candidates for building that successful relationship. The wise networker knows how to effectively build relationships on the social networking as a way of screening the potential connections that may also be found on some professional sites
When asking to connect to an individual on a professional networking site, they usually ask where the person is known from, whether it be though school, personal, business colleague, or professional organization. In essence what they are seeking even at the professional site is a personal connection between the two.
As in marketing, people will believe some of what they see, some of what they hear, but they will almost always believe what others are doing.
Personal relationships are established on a deeper level when common causes, passions, hobbies, pursuits, or goals are the basis of the connection. Working together is fine, but better is when the people party together.
Online social networking is gaining the most attraction, because people are more willing to be open about which they really are, making it easier to know their true likes and dislikes. With social networking it may be a lot easier to trust someone who comes up with a sales pitch because this is their cause and it resonates with others.
The worst thing that can be done is to go onto a professional networking site and just blindly ask for people to be part of a so-called network, and hope that something sticks. Another annoying task is the endorsement. People are asking to be endorsed by people they do not even have a clue about who they are. This is not credibility; this is actually causing more damage to what can be built on the personal social networking side.
Now there does have to be caution on the social networking site as well, if the general notion is that an individual seems to be marketing something, that they are spamming, or that they are stalking others.
